Graham J. Asher

Graham J. Asher, 79, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at The Oaks of Savannah.  He was born August 30, 1944, in South Hampton, UK.  Graham was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island and served in the Merchant Marines. 

He had a lifelong career as a Hotelier, where he managed multi-million-dollar properties all over the world.  He was the Group Vice-President & General Manager of The Helmsley Organization in New York, the Managing Director for Fairmont Royal Pavilion & Glitter Bay in St. James, Barbados West Indies, the Resort General Manager for Durrat Al Arus Resort & Golf Club of Dallah Hotels & Resorts in Jeddah, KSA, the General Manager for Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte, NC for the Starwood Luxury Collection.  He was also the Pre-Opening Project General Manager for US Grant Hotel Ventures, San Diego, CA for Starwood Luxury Collection, the Regional Director of Operations for American Property Hospitality Management Co. in La Jolla, CA, and the Task Force General Manager for Operations and Transitions for Access Hotels & Resorts in Savannah, GA, which included managing properties in Illinois, California, Connecticut, and New York.   Graham also had the opportunity during his career to work under Leona Helmsley. 

He is survived by his wife, Maureen Wozniak Asher of Savannah, two stepdaughters, Chelsea Stoever (James) of Savannah, and Stacy Farinella (Rob) of Atlanta, and step grandchildren, Miles and Grey Stoever, as well as Amber and Annabelle Murray.  He was also survived by other family members and many friends all over the world.  

A Memorial Service to honor his life will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 3 W. Ridge Road, Savannah, GA 31411 (Skidaway Island).
